I think the artists hits the mood just right. I know the artist is a skilled photo manipulator but I can't tell if I am looking at a photo manip or an oil painting. Its this reason I decided to write a critique. I think the skill here is amazing. especially if it turns out there are more than a few elements to blend. The lighting is haunting and sets the mood very well. The melancholy expression on the young women in the painting just continues to build the mood with the lighting. The objects in front of the painting look expertly placed with just enough detail not to be overstimulating. The only thing I could nitpick about the image about is the young woman's skin tone. Old masters were expert at blending skin tones and she looks a little gray, but most people wouldn't notice the difference. Beautiful work and a very emotional piece for me. The level of detail in everything shows a real artist at work.
